Chinese Language and Culture Program in Fuzhou University, China

To further deepen exchanges and cooperation between Fuzhou University and its sister institutions worldwide and to build a broader global education cooperation network, Fuzhou University will resume the „Chinese Language and Culture Program“ starting in 2025.

This program, organized by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Fuzhou University, is a non-degree education and training program. It will be held at the Qishan Campus of Fuzhou University (Fuzhou, Fujian Province) and will last for one academic year (from September 2025 to July 2026).

The program is primarily designed for current students or young faculty members from sister institutions around the world. It consists mainly of coursework supplemented by various social practice and cultural exploration activities. Applicants should, in principle, have an HSK level 3 or above. The curriculum focuses on Chinese language, traditional Chinese culture, and modern China’s national conditions, with approximately 30 class hours per week. Upon completion, the university will issue a certificate of completion and a transcript listing the course names, class hours, and credits.

Through one academic year of study, students’ Chinese language proficiency will be significantly enhanced, meeting the minimum language standard required for international students to apply to Chinese universities as stipulated by the state (standards may vary among different universities). At the same time, students will gain a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture and better comprehend the social, economic, and humanistic achievements of modern China, thereby cultivating international friends who „know China and love China.“

The program offers scholarship support to participating students, covering tuition, accommodation, and insurance fees. Other expenses during their stay in China will be the students’ responsibility. Students wishing to participate in the program need to submit the required application materials. After passing the university’s review, the university will issue a visa application form, and students can apply for a study visa (X Visa) to enter China.
