On March 12, 2025, the first meeting of the newly elected Academic Council of the Todor Kableshkov Higher School of Transport took place, during which a solemn ceremony was held for the inauguration of the new rector, Prof. Dr. Eng. Krasimir Krastanov. This followed the official signing of the management contract between him and the Minister of Education and Science on February 27, 2025.
Prof. Krastanov received the symbolic key to HST and the rector’s robe from the outgoing rector, Prof. Dr. Daniela Todorova, and expressed his gratitude for her support and successful leadership over the past eight years. As a result, he takes over an educational institution with authority, stable positions, and a well-developed collaboration with national and international partner organizations. The Chair of the General Assembly of HST, Prof. Dr. Desislava Yosifova, presented the new rector with a specially crafted model of a steam locomotive and wished him a successful mandate.
During the Academic Council meeting, the new vice-rectors of the Todor Kableshkov Higher School of Transport were also elected: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Julia Varadinova, who will oversee educational activities, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nina Gergova, who will take charge of research and international affairs.
