Joint Research Activity between Todor Kableshkov University of Transport and Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company JSC

A research team from department “Electric equipment and electric power supply in transport” at Todor Kableshkov University of Transport, together with experts from Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company JSC designed, developed and implemented in a regular operation specific microprocessor devices and systems. These upgrades optimize the operation mode of the electrical vehicles as well as enhance their reliability and energy effectiveness.

  • The research team consists of the following members:

  • In accordance with Contracts №19/6.2015 and № 1/1.2016 the research team designed, developed and implemented in a regular operation microprocessor braking system which controls hydraulic stations В4D-С, В4D-М in analog and digital execution. This system has been put into operation for 3 years on 14 tramcars in tramcar parks “Krasna polyana” and “Iskar”.
  • In accordance with Contract №1/1.2016 the research team designed, developed and implemented an electronic module for microprocessor controlling of the heating system of tramcars type T4D-C/ B4D-C. This module has been put into operation for 2 years on 6 tramcars in tramcar park “Krasna polyana”.
  • In accordance with Contract № 1/1.2016 the research team designed, developed and implemented a microprocessor controlling system for air-conditioning system of trolley buses Skoda Solaris 26 and 27 Тr. This system has been put into operation for 2 years.
  • Research team consisted of the following members:

  • In accordance with Contract № 52/05.2014 the research team designed, developed and implemented voltage transistor regulator at trolley bus depot “Iskar”. The device is a modern technical solution for adapting the operation mode of charging stations for electrical busses. The device has been put into operation for 3 years.
  • In accordance with contract № 145/2013 the research team designed, developed and implemented controlling microprocessor system for static transformer of tramcar Т4-DM. The system has been put into operation for 3 years on 20 tram cars in tramcar park “Iskar”.

The positive effects of the applied and developed research projects are related to the enhancing of the reliability, energy effectiveness and safety of the implemented modern systems, as well as the execution of less vehicles’ repairs.

The research team is very grateful to the government of Sofia Public Electrical Transport Company JSC for the good working conditions and the achieved effective research activity between the company and Todor Kableshkov University of Transport.
