Opening of ‘Todor Kableshkov’ Museum at the University of Transport

On October 13, 2017, in ‘Todor Kableshkov’ University of Transport was officially opened (restored) the museum for the history of the university, named after the patron Todor Kableshkov. The occasion was part of the events connected with the 95-th anniversary of the university and was honored by dozens of guests, lecturers, employees and students. The Rector – prof. PhD eng.-econ. Daniela Todorova and the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications – Velik Zanchev, jointly performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which symbolically opened the doors of the new museum for its future visitors. The museum exposition presents the rich 95-year history of the University of Transport since its creation in the distant 1922 year and tracks the transformation of the State Railways School, training professionals for the railways, to the University of Transport, training professionals in a wide range of engineering and economic specialties applicable beyond the railways. Senior lecturer E. Taslakova gave a short historical lecture and introduced the audience with the main moments in the development of the university. The numerous photos and exhibits helped the guests to feel the spirit of the past and appreciate the value of ‘Todor Kableshkov’ University of Transport long way through the years.
